The Louvre Museum is the largest museum that I have visited so far. I know that European museums tend to be on the large side, but I had no idea it was this large. The Louvre Museum used to be the Louvre Palace and palaces are usually very large. So imagine what happens if the king decides to move the palace to Versailles. This was what happened to the Louvre when the royal residence moved to Versailles. The Louvre Palace eventually became the Louvre Museum and what went on display at the museum was one of the greatest art treasures in the world. Imagine a palace-ful of art. True enough the halls of the museum were lined with countless works of art. A lot of the works of art I wasn’t familiar with but some of the names of the arts ring familiar.

It was difficult to appreciate the beautiful works of art here in the Louvre with the pace we were going. The huge number of people in the museum didn’t help improve the ambiance either. This I can assure you, that a visit to the Louvre Museum will show you the most number of paintings you have ever seen in your life. I don’t know if it is possible to enter the museum multiple times but it might be a good idea to break the visit up into multiple visits. One would get numb very easily with the huge number of art on display here.
