Paris is just full of places to see. You will not do it justice if you come here only for a few days. Unfortunately, this is something we were doing. Although I tend to jump towns and cities, I know that Paris is best enjoyed for longer than four days. After we were done with the Eiffel Tower, it was time to explore one of the other important places here in Paris. The Louvre Museum is one of the most famous museums in the world and a visit to this place is a must for any visitor of Paris. The Louvre is actually quite near the Eiffel Tower so it is easily visited. However, it is recommended that you allocate a whole day or days to visit this massive museum. Paris has a few famous museums but this should be the first one on anyone’s list.

The Louvre Museum is in the site of the Louvre Palace, this explains the similarity in design of the Palace of Versailles and the Louvre Museum. This place used to be an official royal residence until Louis XIV moved it in favor of Versailles. As a result, the Louvre Palace became a place to showcase royal treasures. You can probably say that the Louvre’s start as a museum was this point. The Louvre is massively popular and expect that you will be there with thousands of other people. Surprisingly, we were able to purchase tickets easily. It seems the museum is already scaled up to handle massive amount of traffic. You can choose to explore the museum through several paths, I suggest to follow your interests. There are photos of famous exhibits, follow them and you should be able to see these works.
