Second Level of the Eiffel Tower

We were able to get in the lift area of the Eiffel Tower surprisingly quickly. The waiting area was surprisingly large and it seemed that everybody in the waiting area would be able to get in. The lift itself was larger than normal, as you might expect given the number of visitors this place gets. The lift travels not vertically but diagonally upwards following the structure of one of the legs of the tower. I wasn’t sure if there are other similar lifts in the other feet, perhaps the other legs were for the people going to the restaurants. After all, you do not want to be crammed in together with camera toting people in a lift to go to your dinner date.

The first lift only goes up to the second level of the Eiffel Tower, and it wasn’t really super high yet. There it was high enough to see a fair bit of Paris from there. Paris is a very flat city and from the Eiffel Tower, you will definitely see a lot of the city the higher you go up. Visitors can go around the second level to check out the sights. There were already a lot of people on the second level and it was already difficult enough to find a spot to take photos of the sights. The sights were okay, but the mist was ruining it for me. I don’t think it would get any better the higher I go.
