Gare de Provins

Gare de Provins Railway Station

Gare de Provins Railway Station

We were in another train ride to the outskirts of Paris to the medieval town of Provins. We took the Transilien train from Gare de l’Est railway station in Paris. The train was quite modern and it looked like one of those higher speed trains. This train can’t really speed that much as there were a few stops along the way. A high speed train is more suited to long journeys where there are fewer stops. I would have wanted the high speed train but there was no high speed train service to Provins. It doesn’t really matter as the trip would only take just over an hour to complete.

The train would pass by some beautiful French countryside and we were swooning over such beautiful scenery. At certain stops of the train we were thinking of the possibility of getting off and taking photos. I think this is where having a car would be better. Until I get a European driver’s license, that will be off the table. For now, it is train all the way. It is not really a bad way to travel. The only tradeoff is that you don’t get to stop wherever you like. Our destination is the Gare de Provins which is the railway station in the town of Provins. The station was small, not that we expected it to be huge. We head out immediately to get our bearings.
