Touring the River Seine

Eiffel Tower from the River Seine

I wasn’t expecting to be back on the River Seine right after coming back from the Palace of Versailles, fortunately, transportation between the palace and Paris was very easy. We ended up at the foot of the Eiffel Tower and on a ferry on the River Seine. There are numerous river tour companies here in Paris and if you are in the Eiffel Tower area, chances are you won’t miss this. The River Seine Tower is probably one of the touristier things you can do here. But it seems to be a very popular activity. My friends and I boarded one of the ferries to do the river cruise. The ferry was quite large and flat. There are two levels to this ferry and the upper deck was open air. This is where you want to be.

The upper deck of the ferry was already full of people by the time we got to the terminal so we just had to find a nice place to sit. I don’t expect nice photos here but it would be a nice way to see what else is here along the river without walking that much. I hope I would be able to walk along the River Seine and see the nicer buildings and bridges that we will pass by. The river itself is littered with numerous historical buildings, so much that the banks of the river was named as a UNESCO World Heritage site under the name, Paris, Banks of the River Seine. I am really looking forward to this.
