One of the Rooms at the Palace of Versailles

I was very impressed with the chapel at the Palace of Versailles. It doesn’t look like any chapel I have ever seen. It is quite typical for Louis XIV to go to such lengths to create such a beautiful structure. It was an incredible effort to create this masterpiece of a palace such that the construction of which almost drove France into bankruptcy. Just from that room alone, I was already very impressed with this place. I had no idea how much more I would be seeing of this place. We continued on to the rest of the palace. This was basically a tour of the rooms of the palace of Versailles, at least the ones which are open to visitors.

I could compare the Forbidden City to the Palace of Versailles, whereas the Forbidden City kept adding palaces within the grounds per emperor, the Palace of Versailles was added a room for every conceivable purpose. The rooms were just a masterpiece of art one after the other. It was incredible that this place was just a place for the king to live in. I have never seen a place as magnificent as this. According to the audio guide, the rooms each have their own purpose. However, because of the sheer number of rooms, it was difficult to remember exactly what it was used for.
