Outside Park Güell

We didn’t really linger much longer inside Park Güell after we were done with Antoni Gaudí’s house. We basically skipped the entire paid portion which was blocked by a long queue of visitors. We didn’t really have the mood to queue up for that so we decided to leave the park all together. It was quite straighforward to go out but I didn’t realize that we will be going through what appears to be the main door. I seems that we entered the park through the back door. To think that there was a more convenient option here. I didn’t really know how to get to this point though, but I’m sure we will find out when we have to go back to town. What was surprising here was that we can see here two of the parks’s most famous landmarks.

Gaudí is known for making uniquely organically shaped structures. These buildings by the gate are no exceptions. These two buildings are within the paid section of the park but we can clearly see them from the outside. I was surprised at how large the structure actually was. We saw the from the inside of the park and they didn’t seem big. It is quite different when you seem them up close. When you look at the buildings, you would start thinking about Hansel and Gretel, strawberries and icing and cute stuff like that. It really appears to be a house made from a fairy tale house. Despite the candy looking nature of the house, it still has Gaudí’s Catholic influence on it, in the form of crosses. It is a pity that we weren’t able to visit this structure but there wasn’t much to do if the queue is so long. I think these kinds of places you need to queue up very early in the morning to avoid wasting your time waiting to go in.
