The next day was another busy day for us. We left the apartment early to queue up to purchase ticket to the immensely popular Sagrada Familia. Incredibly enough, there was already a long line outside the still unfinished church. The queue was only to purchase tickets. We were told that the queue was for the 2:30pm slot to visit the church. It was only morning but only the tickets for 2:30pm were available. Such is the popularity of this UNESCO World Heritage site. The queue winds its way around the church until we go back to where we got out from the metro station. I found it incredible that such at huge number of people would be coming here. We should have purchased tickets beforehand so we don’t need to waste time queuing up.

In the end we ended up spending two hours waiting in line to purchase the tickets. There were just that many people waiting here. There were periods where some people would try to cut into the queue, though we managed to see them before they cut in front of us. We took turns queuing up while others would go around the area to see what is there to see. There wasn’t really much after all. We also scouted for places to eat, there was a McDonald’s just across the street but that didn’t really fly. So we ended up at Lactuca, which was a buffet restaurant.

You can’t miss the sign. They have a buffet lunch for a very affordable price that we couldn’t resist going. I don’t really expect too much for such a price but there was a surprising variety in the food here. The food wasn’t particularly tasty, but considering the price, it was good. The staff seemed to have a lot of people from the Philippines. It seems that they have been there for a while already, as they can already speak Spanish. The staff was very friendly and would talk to us even though they were busy cleaning up. If you happened to be stuck queuing up for the Sagrada Familia entrance ticket. The Lactuca buffet restaurant is worth a visit. We didn’t have to wait very long before it was time for us to go in the church. This would be our third time visiting the church, hopefully we can get in this time.
