Piscados Restaurant Lunch at Tarragona

I can’t really tell which restaurants were good or bad. Most of the restaurant at the Plaça de la Font weren’t full and I assumed that was because it was still early. I think the locals have lunch a little later, but I’m in not mood to do what the Romans do right now. There were several Basque bars here which I thought was more local, but my friends weren’t interested in those. We ended choosing one of the restaurants here, named Piscados, probably because it looked nice. The Piscados Restaurant has an indoor restaurant an outdoor restaurant. Seeing as how the weather was so nice, we opted for outdoor seating.

Although the sun was already shining brightly, there was a umbrella to shelter patrons from the heat. This way we can still enjoy watching people pass by this nice little square. I thought the setting was very nice as it wasn’t beside the road, so things won’t be smelly. The waiters here were quite helpful, although they don’t speak a lot of English here. Fortunately, my Spanish was good enough for them to understand and I was able to order food that interested me. Unfortunately, the menu didn’t have any photos, it would have been nice to see them before we order. Anyway, that is part of the excitement.

It seems though that my companions are having a different kind of excitement, as they spent the time fawning over the waiters. It seems that they found them quite attractive even surreptitiously taking photos of them, much to my chagrin. The food eventually came and one was a sample of local fare – chorizos in particular. These are sausages with a particular flavor that make them uniquely Spanish and famous the world over. The sausage platter was a sample platter which provide different kinds of Spanish chorizos. I had some uninspiring pork cutlet. It wasn’t anything special, nor does it strike me as anything uniquely Spanish. The presentation was great though. Bread is becoming more and more part of our daily meals. We would start with endless bread until the dish comes out. Maybe it is part of the plan to feed us so we won’t complain about the food when it does come out.
