Crypt in Santa Maria de Montserrat Basilica

Very Quiet Chapel at the Santa Maria de Montserrat Basilica

When we entered the Santa Maria de Montserrat Basilica, we noticed the long queue to the right side of the church. It seems to be a queue which was separate from the main church. With the long line staring at us in the face, we couldn’t help but be curious about the queue. What could be so interesting that there is such a long line of people? We decided to join the line to find out what was so interesting. There was no way for us to know what was at the end of the line, so we can’t really do anything but wait in the queue.

We were basically taking turns queuing up and taking photos of the church. One of the places which we entered was the crypt. It was located at an one of the chapels are surrounding the basilica. It wasn’t very obvious but there was a flight of stairs going down to the crypt. It was basically a small chapel here and it is meant for use in funerals. It was very quiet and solemn as you would expect in a place like this.
