Bar Estudiantil

We decided that we will not be having dinner at the waterfront area of Barcelona. We assumed that it would be expensive to be eating in this area. The La Rambla area isn’t a good area for cheap eats either, so we decided to go back to where we were staying which is near the University of Barcelona. We ended up at one of the restaurants which sit right across the university, the aptly named, Bar Estudiantil, Student Bar. This obviously targets the students studying at the nearby university. I would be surprised that ordinary students will be able to regularly eat here though. Perhaps it is good for their sandwiches or any quick meals.

We, however, we will be having our dinner here. It was a quite chilly outside the restaurant, fortunately, they have heaters outside the restaurant to keep customers warm. I had some sinful deep friend calamari, which turned out to be a massive dish. It is probably good for sharing, though I still managed to finish my meal and still eat from my companions’ plates. I don’t know how authentic that dish was but I loved it, I love calamari in the first place. The price wasn’t that cheap though, it was around ten Euros, but I think this was standard for Europe. I would go back there again, if I was too lazy to go elsewhere.
