Maremagnum

I was impressed with the waterfront of Barcelona. Considering that the Port of Barcelona has been in existence for hundreds of years, I was surprised to see it converted into something much more modern. There was a new entertainment center here and it seems that it is one of the more visited places in Barcelona. It certainly is very well visited at the time of my visit, there were a lot of people on their way to what appears to be a shopping mall here in Barcelona. Interestingly, there is a bridge to cross the water. The bridge even opens up to let ships through the bridge. People obviously need to stop for a while, while the bridge opens and closes. There is a person manning the gates to make sure people don’t fall into the water.

At the other end of the bridge is the shopping mall known as Maremagnum. It is a modern shopping center, it is one of a few entertainments centers in this area. Off to the furthest end of the area, there is a cineplex. The shopping mall itself wasn’t that special as it was similar to other shopping malls I have visited in Asia. There were a lot of restaurants here including a buffet restaurant, but it was a bit too early for dinner so we just continued to exploring the area.
