Apartment at Barcelona

I was expecting to arrive in Barcelona a few minutes later than my friends who I will be meeting here. It turned out that they were delayed in on leg of their flight, the one coming from London, I received a message from them that they will be a couple of hours delayed though they were already on their way by the time I got the message. I was provided with the contact of the accommodations and I will be heading there first. I just arrived in Barcelona but I really wanted to drop my bags somewhere. The apartment which we rented will be that place.

The apartment is located in a nice side of Barcelona near the Universitat metro station. I had studied the map of the apartment prior to coming here including a street view to make sure I was familiar with the location. From the Barcelona Sants station, I needed to take the metro to the apartment. It took me some figuring out to find the metro at Barcelona Sants. I had to get out of the station and go back in. I wasn’t sure if there was a better way, but I thought that was a strange way to set things up. At the metro station, I purchased a ten Euro metro ticket which I will be using for the duration of my stay here in Barcelona. Hopefully it would be enough. Outside the Universitat station was just as the street view showed. The apartment was two streets behind and I quickly found it.

I was pleased with the area of the apartment as it seemed to be quite classy. I called up the caretaker of the apartment and we met up downstairs. It seems that the owner himself was on vacation in Bali and we wouldn’t have a chance to meet. The apartment itself was quite spacious and it had three bedrooms which were open to us. A kitchen for our cooking. And a living room to watch TV and eat dinner. The bathrooms were okay but the shower area was a bit small for me. We ended up making a mess because the curtains were leaking water. We had to clean up after that but we managed to learn how to use the shower without making a mess. There was also a washing machine, good for me, since I already needed to do my laundry. There was a hanging area outside, but I was wary of using it since the wind might just blow away my clothes or worse, my underwear. I was very pleased with this place and I probably wouldn’t have been able to stay in a place like this by myself.
