I seems that I was only at the second level of the Alcazar de Segovia. I would have thought that the tallest viewpoint of the castle would be facing away from the town, since it is a defense structure. When I got to the second level, I realized that there were still stairs continuing on to the upper level. I really wanted to see the view from the top since this is one of the highest points of the town and the castle. I’m sure there will be great views to be had from the top. There was a lady at the second level of the stairs and it seems that she was hiding from the morning sun, it is already quite hot there so I understand why she was doing that.

The stairs turns from a modern flight of stairs to a more authentic and much, much narrower flight of stairs. It pays to know if someone is using the stairs as you don’t want to be caught with someone coming down while you are going up. While it is still wide enough for people to make space for me while going down, it really isn’t very comfortable for either party. I was only too glad to see the endless stream of students coming down the tower run out. Even better was when I saw the light at the end of the stairs. It was finally the top of the castle.
