Back to Manila from Puerto Princesa Airport

Waiting at the Puerto Princesa Terminal Building Departure Area

I arrived in Puerto Princesa city from a whirlwind tour of El Nido early morning. But it was already to late to find a place to catch some sleep. I was dropped at the major road of Puerto Princesa city where the Jollibee is and I basically spent the early morning there. No, I did not sleep there. Jollibee breakfast came for me quite early, my flight out of the city was early as well. The airport itself is in the middle of the city and it is walking distance from where I was. When morning came I just walked back to the airport, it is probably just a 20 minute walk away.

What I noticed at the Puerto Princesa Airport was that it seemed to be brighter now compared to that last time I departed from this airport. I wouldn’t be surprised to know that they recently renovated the terminal building since Palawan is experiencing a surge in tourism. However, it seems that the terminal building itself is not keeping up with the surge. The check in area is still small and there were a lot of passengers at that time. It was like a large room with counters on all sides making it quite cramped here especially if you have a whole school team checking in together with you. I hope they would be able to expand the terminal soon as it allows for a more comfortable experience for both passenger and airport staff.
