I didn’t really have a plan when I was going around the Historic City of Toledo. I skipped the Museo de Santa Cruz, which I thought was one of the more important museums here because the queue was too long. I was mostly after taking architecture photographs which this city has an abundance of. As you go around the city, it makes you forget that you aren’t actually on the plains but rather on top of a hill. Most of the hilltop was already flattened to build the city over the years. I was basically wandering out looking for interesting things to see. The map I had recommended a walking tour and I was trying to follow it up to a certain point where I lost track of where I was. It was either that or the map isn’t up to date anymore.

I found myself walking towards one of the most important landmarks in the city – the Alcazar, which is basically the castle. It was overlooking the river which borders the town. Outside the Alcazar, there were a viewing deck there people can admire the views over the nearby river. It was also interesting to see how steep the drop was from here to the river below. The opposite site of the hill was quite near and I could imagine this place to be joined together at some point in time. Perhaps the erosion of the hill by the river below produced this land form. There was another castle-looking like structure on the opposite side and it look quite nice perched on top of that hill. I’m sure this spot looks a lot like that.
