Rugged Coastline at Ards Forest Park

It is really a bit strange whenever I remember that we are at a forest park. It seems that Ards Forest Park in County Donegal sits right by the sea that it has features which are unique in a forest. For one thing, it has a beautiful coastline. Large parts of the coastline are lined with white sand beaches, it would probably have made some tropical islands envious. Fortunately, not a lot of people would be spending their summer here in this beach. The water is cold and so is the weather. After lingering by the beach, we continued on our trail. Actually, we decided that it was about time for us to head back but we will continue our hike.

We needed to scamper up the ledge which leads us back to the original trail where it hugs the forest a little bit more closely. However, this doesn’t leave the coast that much. The trail was getting higher and higher again, and the coastline was getting more and more rugged. A familiar refrain I find myself saying over and over again whenever I go exploring in Ireland. The coastline here seems to form small coves with white sand beaches. However, these beaches don’t seem to be very accessible. They look quite lovely though.
