Beautiful Seascape of Melmore Head

Hidden Beach at Melmore Head

We were at Melmore Head which is yet another example of the beautiful seascape which Ireland seems to have plenty of. Melmore Head is in the northwestern county of Donegal and it is pretty much similar to the other heads which I have visited, all two of them. We walked as far as we could go until we hit some rugged rocks. It was not very convenient to be walking here but the kids with us didn’t seem to have any issues clambering down the rocks. The rocks here were very rugged and you can see that there has been a lot of activity here. A lot of old rock has been exposed due to the constant action of the water nearby.

I was surprised to see that there was a small beach off to the left. The beach looked inviting as the sand seemed to be quite white. However, the tide was up so we couldn’t find a way to get down to the beach. We could have chosen to clamber down the rocks but I think it was too dangerous. I would rather stay put here and enjoy the view lest something untoward happen and we would be far away from help. Besides, the view is really that nice if you didn’t know any better, you could say that the beach scene could have been somewhere in the tropics.
