It was frustrating that Letterkenny doesn’t have easy access to a lot of stuff which I have taken for granted. My rather exotic phone had problems and I couldn’t find any shop which could fix it. I had to make a trip to the city of Derry-Londonderry in Norther Ireland just to have it fixed. I remember that there was a small repair shop there which claimed can fix any problem. I dropped it off and head off to the city to explore places which I haven’t been too. My first stop was the place called the Diamond. This is their name for what appears to be something like the city center in Derry. There were numerous establishments in the area, but what appears to be the centerpiece is the Diamond War Memorial.

The Diamond War Memorial is a monument built to remember people who died participating in World War I and II. Monument stands in the roundabout at the center of the walled city of Derry-Londonderry which they have named the Diamond. The statues here are made of bronze and one of them it set atop the monument itself. The two other statues represent the Army and the Navy. The names of the dead are engraved at the foot of the monument. This is a solemn place at the center of what is probably the busiest place in the entire city. There are benches here for visitors as well.
