Glenveagh National Park Scenery

Lovely Scenery at Glenveagh National Park

I would consider this to be the first time that I get to know Ireland up close. The Glenveagh National Park in country Donegal is one of the country’s largest national parks, it is also one of the more well known one. It is tucked away in a rather remote part of Donegal, which is already considered remote by Irish standards. Fortunately, it was easy enough to get there but only if you have a car. There didn’t seem to be any public transportation to get here and that really troubles me. If Ireland is serious in projecting and image of environmental awareness, they should make it easy for people to use public transportation to visit places like these. In this part of the country, it seems to be a necessity to have a vehicle of your own.

I was fortunate to have a friend who already has a vehicle of his own and thus it is a breeze to get from one place to another, assuming he feels like it. Well, it seems that he feels like bringing everyone to Glenveagh National Park so here we are. It wasn’t a particularly beautiful day here in the park, however it was a very typical Irish day, cold and gloomy. The sky was overcast which was a pity since the scenery was very nice. There is a nice lake which is nestled below the foot of some hills. The lakes seems to go one for some distance but there is a path where visitors walk near the shore of the lake.
