Lovely Architecture at the city of Derry/Londonderry in Northern Ireland
I was still trying to settle in the small town of Letterkenny in County Donegal. It is really a very small town and you can probably explore most of the interesting stuff in a day. So why wander all the way out here? Letterkenny happens to be a good base to start exploring, it is well connected to the rest of Ireland, and I found out that it also has good links to Northern Ireland or simply the “North”. I was fortunate enough to have a friend already here to help me organize stuff. He already has his own transportation which makes it very convenient to go around in public transport deprived Letterkenny.
More Modern Architecture at Derry/Londonderry in Northern Ireland
My friend, having been here already a few months, has already explored most of Letterkenny. Because of this he has already started exploring the surrounding areas. I only have to piggyback where the family goes. In this instance, we will be going to the nearby city of Derry or Londonderry, depending who you ask. Letterkenny actually has buses going to Derry/Londonderry, however, it is getting to the bus station that is the problem. I could walk 45 minutes to the bus station or just take the car there. I was told that they usually do their shopping there as goods seem to be cheaper there. It is only a thirty minute very scenic drive to Derry/Londonderry and I am very excited to finally be able to set foot in the United Kingdom, albeit in Northern Ireland.
