Heading to the Island of Codognon Cave

I was very happy with the lunch we just had. It was totally unexpected that our boatmen would prepare a feast like that for us. They probably brought along all the stuff and just heated everything when we got to Snake Island. It seems that Snake Island is also the lunch island, as numerous other groups where also having lunch there. There were a lot of foreigners there and they seem to be having a good time there. Since it was lunch time, I though it was also a good time to be leaving Snake Island. That way there will be less people in the other spots. Fortunately, we were just a small group of four so it was easy for us to come to a consensus.

Compared to the previous tour that I had, this tour seems to be more focused on beaches and caves. We haven’t been to a cave yet but it seems that we will have our first encounter. Limestone islands then to form caves and the Bacuit Archipelago is a chain of limestone islands, it was thus not surprising that there are a few caves in this area. We were heading to our first cave – Codognon Cave. I’m not sure about the spelling of the cave as I have seen Cudugnon as well, both seem to be valid spellings though since they almost sound the same. Locals here would probably pronounce them as Codognon though.
