Out of the Bulalacao Falls Jungle Trail

Our Guide's Modest House

Our Guide’s Modest House

Somehow it took us a much shorter time to get back to the main road following the Bualalaco Falls Jungle Trail. We didn’t see any sign of any other tourists who ventured in and I just assumed that they got lost. I just hope they managed to find their way back to the main road. I had no idea how they got here either since there didn’t seem to be any transportation here other than the one we hired. Public transporation here is non existent so it is best to bring your own or hire. Our driver was busy relaxing under the tree waiting for us to finish. While our guide started to be busy as well.

Carving Up Some Coconut for the Guests

Carving Up Some Coconut for the Guests

He went off and started carving some coconut. He figured that were thirsty and that we wanted a drink. It was then I realized that I haven’t had fresh coconut juice in ages. Sure you can get the canned variety fairly easily but not fresh from the tree fresh, which is why I was eagerly looking forward to it. Our guide was a very gracious host and he introduced us to his family who was sitting outside their modest house. They plant for a living for most of the time there was nothing much to do. It seems to be the total opposite of the life I live where I work for a computer and need to earn a large amount of money to make ends meet. Sure, he may not have smartphones or a car, but he seems to be happy here while I wasn’t sure about myself.
