Arriving at Bulalacao Falls

It was another rough ride from El Nido town to the launching pad to the Bulalacao Falls. My friend has been here previously and he went up another path. We would be taking the same guide he took the last time and it seems that the guide still remembers him. Our driver will be waiting for us behind some bushes. It was already very hot here so he was just finding shelter. As for us, we head straight into the trail. It is behind the house so it is not very obvious.

As I would soon find out, it was not an easy trail either. There were numerous trail branching out from the one we were one, and it was impossible for me to remember which path we took. I think this was done on purpose so that the guide still has something to charge for. He was telling us how a group of foreigners didn’t want to make use of his services dove right into the trail, this was just a few minutes before we arrived. Here is the thing, we arrived at the Bulalacao falls without seeing anyone. I think they got lost somewhere but we didn’t see anyone heading back either. I hope they found their way to the falls or back to the main road. Knowhing that, I was thinking of laying a trail of stones so that I won’t get lost, a la Hansel and Gretel.
