Heading to Corong-corong in El Nido

Finally, the sun was low enough that it was as hot as a few hours ago. I’m guaranteed to get sunburn, hopefully this was all worth it. Our hire tricycle driver was ready to go, he is probably raring to go home as well, I don’t think he will be having any other customers aside from us. After all, the fee to hire him to bring us to Nacpan is already quite substantial. On the way back to El Nido town I was already dozing off only to be jolted awake by the rough road. They really need to fix this road, how long does it take to pave this place? There were other engineering works along the way as well, road widening and bridge building but all of these development seem to take place in a very different time scale. Life is really slower here but won’t it be more expensive to hire people for several years when you can finish the job in a few months? The good thing is, it provides jobs so it can’t really be a bad thing.

It was already late afternoon and it was certainly time for us to try some sunset shots. We instructed our driver to drop us off at the village of Corong-corong which is near El Nido town. Corong-corong doesn’t seem to be the miserable deserted town that Napcan is. The beach here is lined with numerous resorts and there were already a lot of tourists here. The beach itself isn’t very wide either, possibly a result of poor planning as the resorts might have been built too close to the water. Anyway, it is their problem if the tide comes in and washes away their resort. This place looks promising with the setting sun already shining on the beach of Corong-corong.
