Going to the San Jose Public Market

San Jose Public Market

I arrived at the Puerto Princesa Airport without incident. The terminal looks as it did several years ago. I checked in my baggage, actually I was forced to because of my tiny tripod, but no matter, it took some time for our baggage to come out. The baggage claim area wasn’t bright at all and considering that it was almost noon, it was a bit strange, I guess it is to reduce the amount of heat coming in the building. It seems that the popularity of Palawan as a tourist destination has risen. I have been to this place previously and I had no problem with touts. There were touts now, but they gave up immediately when I said no.

I needed to get to the San Jose Bus Terminal. This time I know how to navigate. There is a tricycle waiting area to bring you to the junction, but this one costs P50. You are better off hailing a tricycle outside the airport. It was a bit strange to see this kind of pricing. Even the drivers knew that when I said it was so expensive, they just pointed me to the street outside. I got a tricycle outside for whatever I felt, that’s what the driver told me, I handed him P10 and he was content. Actually it isn’t that far but I needed to catch a bus out of Puerto Princesa. From the junction, there is a waiting multicab to bring passengers to the San Jose Public Market.
