My China trip was coming to an end. My friend treated me to a nice feast at a local Sichuan restaurant in Shenzhen. I don’t know when I would be able to come here again as I might be taking a break from coming here for a change. Yes, yes, I keep hearing this from my friends to go somewhere else. Maybe it was just that I was already familiar with the place and the systems they have in place here that it was easy for me to get around this huge country. Most of the people here are very nice, the ones who are not as nice unfortunately, were ill informed and there is very little that I can do about that. As for my friends, they brought me to the metro station where I would be taking my train back to Hong Kong.

Come to think about it, I haven’t crossed this border in a while and at night it is a breeze to go through. After passing through customs it is on to the train towards Hong Kong. My friend, who I will be staying with for the next couple of days, stays in Hong Kong Island, so it would be a while before I get there. I managed to find a payphone that to inform him that I was already here in Hong Kong and to get ready for my arrival. I’m no stranger to Hong Kong and I love coming here. It was a holiday the next day in Hong Kong so he was free to go around with me. I just like going around looking at things here with no particular goal in mind.

Dinner was somewhere in Soho, he brought me to this pizza place which served wood fired pizza, fast food style. The pizza slices were huge but it wasn’t anything I couldn’t handle. Back when I stayed here for a while, I would never think of coming here to eat but since this is a once in a while thing, I readily agreed. My friend and I share a trait where we don’t really like to spend, I guess that is why he prefers to walk around just like I do. By the way, since we were already in the Soho area, maybe it was time to explore some of the rowdiest nightlife here in Hong Kong.
