See How High We Are

The inner part of the Stone Forest doesn’t have very wide paths. This is exacerbated by the presence of numerous local tourists. If any of you have been paying attention to my blog, you will probably know that it is always a challenge to deal with them. Looks like there is no escaping them this time. It seems that everybody is being funneled into the same place. One look ahead and I realize where were were going. There is an elevated area on top of one of the karst. They have carved out a flight of stairs for visitor to climb up the karst and have a look around the area.

Unfortunately, this is where everything gets bad. There was a incredible amount of people here and once you are in the queue to climb up, there is no getting out. So were patiently waited for our turn to climb up. It was a slow grind up that narrow flight of stairs with the top of the karst being full of people having a look around. The top wasn’t very spacious either even without people. A few people with hanging around the top taking in the view. I was struggling to get some photos here because there were so many people it was almost silly. Anyway, the view from the top was great. You can see vast parts of the Stone Forest from this spot. It was really nice. I was glad that people here are very patient and there was no scuffle at all when taking turns to climb to the top.
