Well Made Path in Cangshan 苍山

Cang Mountain or Cangshan is one of the more well known destinations here in Dali. After all, it is not difficult to miss such an imposing mountain range which is right behind the ancient city of Dali. In a way, it serves as a natural defense well against invaders which may come from that direction. However, this didn’t really stop the hordes of Genghis Khan from overrunning the city centuries ago. Now, Cangshan is a well known hiking place filled with numerous surprises for visitors.

Path in Cangshan Goes Around the Mountain

I was quite pleased with the difficulty of the trail here in Cangshan. The trail was very flat, at least most of the time, with the occasional stairs to climb but it is not as if you need to climb stairs for hours and hours here. Parts of the path are carved along the side of the mountain and thus can make it look a little dangerous since there would be nothing below you. Thankfully, the path is well built and there doesn’t seem to be a chance that it will collapse soon. There are some parts which are wet so it might be little dangerous and slippery. Although it does snow on the mountain, I don’t think it is that bad yet, but still better safe than sorry.
