The Cangshan or Cang Mountains 苍山 is the mountain range which borders Erhai Lake and consequently Dali Ancient Town. It seems to be a magnificent range as it seems to be like a wall of mountains protecting the lake from the elements. I was not really surprised to know that you can go explore the Cang mountains. Apparently there are some trails you can take to explore the area. Hopefully the trails aren’t too steep for me.

First order of business was getting up the mountain. My new travel companion from Canada and I took a cab from Dali Ancient Town and brought us to the entrance of the mountain. There was an entrance fee but this included a cable car ride. I have taken numerous cable car rides all over China and this wasn’t particularly special. My previous one at Shika Snow Mountain was better. Anyway, the attraction of Cang Mountains was the hiking so I hope I won’t be disappointed.
