One of Dali’s more well known landmarks is the Wuhua Pavilion, which is basically an elevated pavilion where visitors can now see Dali Ancient Town. It is very similar to the Market Tower at Pingyao, another ancient town in Shaanxi province. Wuhua Pavilion seems to be one of the taller structures here in the town so it serves as a very good landmark for me. It was already night time and I was exploring the night scene of Dali and so far I was happy with how they lit up the town.

The streets were lined with numerous souvenir shops and they are very tourist oriented, at least they weren’t very pushy when it comes to selling their wares. The Yuhua Pavilion is at that center of this shopping street and it is likewise lit up like the rest of the town, at least, the older town part of Dali. I didn’t get to see the newer part of the town as I wasn’t really interested. Seeing the Wuhua Pavilion here reminds me that this place has its own charm as well.
