I was making good progress with the temple hopping at Chongsheng Temple. I was already in the “inner area” of the Chongsheng Temple and the halls here are the most impressive ones here. The largest hall here in the Chongsheng Temple is the Daxiongbao Hall. This is probably the most important hall here as it houses the most important Buddhist statues. You can tell how important this was since they even have a large area in front of the hall complete with water feature. The other halls didn’t have this.

It seems that certain ceremonies and rituals are performed here but there wasn’t any going on at that time. Come to think of it, I don’t recall seeing any monks here. Maybe this place is really just a place for worship and not a monastery. It should not come as a surprise though since the temple was fairly recently been rebuilt. It is unlike the Songzanlin Temple in Shangrila where it has centuries of history being a monastery. Photography is not allowed in the Daxiongbao Hall so I took my photos from the outside.
