The rooms I got at the Four Seasons Youth Hostel was nothing like its namesake hotel. I do have to put a disclaimer that they did let me look at it first before giving me the room, however, this has got to be one of the grubbiest rooms which I have ever stayed at. The room was one of the old houses still within the grounds of the hostel. It was nice of them to leave it untouched and it is probably a good idea as well. If you want to know how it was to stay in those old houses, this will be the best chance yet. The room is dark and damp with a window which was difficult to open. The room smelled funny as well but I still took it, I figured I would have to find a better place once I settled down and orient myself.

The rest of the hostel actually wasn’t that bad. Most of the buildings have already been renovated and the rooms are very nice, in total contrast to the room I got. The toilet was just outside my room so it was easy to access. I would have to see that the toilet and bathroom look much better than my room. There were multiple levels for the hostel and at the top was the laundry area, speaking of which I need to use it soon. The central area is an open area where people get sit around and gather. There is a nice pond in the middle as well, really nice place here. Too bad I couldn’t get one of these more “modern” rooms.
