Another Viewing Area Across the River at the Tiger Leaping Gorge 虎跳峡
I was quite surprised how high up I already was when I needed to walk all the way down to see the Yangtze River up close at the Tiger Leaping Gorge. I guess I never noticed that the lower road was already going up until I reached this place. The actual platform is still a ways down and I wasn’t really in a hurry to get down. I already walked two hours just to get here and although I was excited to see the river up close, I was also tired from that walking. At least it wasn’t like my legs turning into jelly type of tired when I would walk up some famous mountains of China. I don’t know how everything would have turned out had it chosen to walk the upper road. I am not sure if I would have also ended up in this place but I don’t think I made the wrong decision.
Incredibly Turbulent River at the Tiger Leaping Gorge 虎跳峡
Since I have lived my whole life in the city, this kind of thing is a very good change of pace for me. The mountains on both sides of the gorge while not extremely tall, yet still imposing since the gorge is quite deep. The raging Yangtze River is likewise a sight to behold. Just listening to the river is enough to excite you since you can hear the roar of the river from highway. What I liked about this is the place is mostly untouched unless you count the highway and the viewing platform, I think the authorities have done a good job maintaining this place.
