When I was doing some research one the Tiger Leaping Gorge, I saw some photos of the place but nothing there really prepared me for the real thing. Photos of the Tiger Leaping Gorge are naturally static and they could not capture the power of this place. The mighty Yangtze River is squeezed into this narrow gorge which is still being carved up up to this day. The huge volume of water of the Yangtze needs to pass through these portion much like a hose whose spout is being pinched. As a result, there is much power of water flowing through this place. The waters in this area are extremely turbulent and you can hear the water all the way from up the mountain where I was.

The view from the mountain is simply stunning as you can see how the Yangtze River makes its way into to this place. Best of all, there was hardly any development in this area apart from the highway which I was hiking on. I try to keep my interest up since the rain kept falling intermittently. I was about to reach my goal for this high and I hope it doesn’t get ruined by rain.
