More Kilometers to Go to Tiger Leaping Gorge 虎跳峡

I realized that I was only starting my hike. The two kilometers I walked was just a taste of things to come. The Tiger Leaping Gorge might turn out to be a more challenging hike than I though. I was already lucky enough that I was taking the paved road going there. So this was a safe as it can be. I’m not sure if this was the lower road which the guide books was talking about but this didn’t seem to be as dangerous as they made it out to be. Though from the photos, this doesn’t seem to be the same trail. And they said the lower trail was the more dangerous one. The only danger I can see here is the one from me accidentally walking in front of a speeding car or maybe falling rocks.

From here, I can see that the scenery is getting more and more rugged. The Tiger Leaping Gorge must be getting close. There are very high mountain in the distance and I expect that I would pass them eventually. But for now, I have to content myself with the river. At this point the river is getting rougher what with it joining with the stream from Tiger Leaping Gorge Town. The area here isn’t exactly that wide either with very tall mountains flanking both sides of the Yangtze. I would seem I would figure out how the Tiger Leaping Gorge came to be.
