The Black Dragon Pool Park was certainly very pleasant. It was just unfortunate to me that I was not able to see the park in it full and renowned beauty. The water levels of the pools themselves were dangerously low and the drought in the area didn’t really help raise the water levels. It is said that the overdevelopment of the nearby ancient town might have affected the pool. However, as the rainy season progresses, the water levels would go back to normal. However, what disappointed me most of all was the no-show of the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, this is definitely not the fault of the Black Dragon Pool park but it was just a tremendous letdown for me not to see it due to thick cloud cover.

Most visitors will be exiting the park through another part of the park, one which follows the water which lead directly to the Lijiang Ancient Town. The path towards the town was just as pleasant and it seems that everyone else is enjoying it as well. Here, you can already see the growing number of accommodations as you grow nearer the ancient town. There were some higher end ones which would be out of my budget. It doesn’t matter to me anyway, since I have already secured accommodations inside the ancient town.
