I was quite surprised to see another temple here at the Black Dragon Pool Park. The first one was the Five Phoenix Pavillion, while the second one is the Dragon God Temple 龙神寺. The Dragon God Temple is even smaller than the Five Phoenix Pavillion. It is a small temple built in the year 1737 during the time of the flamboyant Emperor Qianlong. This temple seemed to be quite known as Qianlong and Guangxu emperors conferred titles to this place. The layout of the temple is pretty straightforward, it contains several courtyards all of which we quite pleasant.

The centerpiece of the temple grounds was the Jade Water Dragon Palace 玉水龙宫. The palace itself has very typical Ming and Qing features and wouldn’t look out of place in Beijing. Unfortunately, it is not allowed to take photos of the interior of the palace which was quite dark anyway. There was a statue of the Dragon God but nothing very interesting either. I guess I may have see too many of these in China.
