I left the main area of the Black Dragon Pool a while back and am now exploring the rest of the scenic area. There is a much quiet area here and it is great for strolling. I really like Chinese parks as they tend to evoke this air relaxation and serenity which is seldom seen elsewhere. I don’t think there are names for these places but they are interesting none the less. There was this long pavillion which looks more like a hall than a pavillion. There interesting part was where people would hang these things on the hall for good luck.

Yunnan has an indigenous religion which are adhered to by the Naxi people. The Dongba religion, though indigenous, shows strong Tibetan, Taoist, Bon influences with their religious figures and their beliefs and rituals. Much of the culture of Yunnan revolves around the Naxi people and the Dongba religion. Here at the Black Dragon Pool, there are some Dongba trinkets which are hung on to the pavillion. I have seen this at the entrance to the Lijiang Ancient Town as well. The primary motive for this is for good luck, usually lovers would come and profess their love to each other by hanging this.
