The grassy plain at Shika Snow Mountain was a delightful change from the disappointing summit “views” further up the mountain. It was fascinating to be able to visit a mountain and a plain all in one visit. The grassy plain at least relieves me some of the disappointment when I ascended the mountain. The visibility here at the grassy plain was excellent in total contrast to the poor visibility on the summit. Though looking at the mountain top right now, I can’t be so sure anymore. I don’t think they would allow me to go back up the cable car which was strange since the cable cars go up even when empty.

The grassy plain at Shika Snow Mountain has a farm like feel to it. It has been a while since I have visited a farm, though I full well know that this is not a full fledged farm. Though maybe I just have no idea how farms are elsewhere. Somehow this place doesn’t have and air of authenticity around it. The most glaring fact is that it is within a ticketed area. They may have lived here before Shika Snow Mountain was developed into a tourist attraction, but still. They do have a number of animals wandering around, yak, pigs and horses.
