Thoughts on Baitshuitai 白水台

Actually, when I visited Baishuitai, I was in quite a rush to get up the terraces. It was not because I was that excited to see it but it was the other way around. I needed to make it back down in time to catch the bus back. I arrived at Baishuitai at around 12:50 in the afternoon, the bus will pass by Baishuitai at 2:30 in the afternoon. I checked this with the driver several times. I was certain that I would have enough time to explore the area. Obviously I won’t want to risk missing my only ride back to Shangrila and have to spend the night here. The town here was small and there weren’t a lot of places to stay in, I wouldn’t be surprised to know that the prices of rooms will be expensive.

I went up the mountain and was back down the main road an hour later, plenty of time. Maybe I should have relaxed a little bit. It was for my peace of mind as well so I don’t have to worry about how to get back. Up on the mountain, I met this pair of Chinese ladies, they asked me if I was willing to join them on their hired van, in case I don’t have a ride back. I seriously considered it but in the end decided to take the bus back. It would probably be nice to have my own vehicle where I could stop any time I like. I remember there were some gorgeous views of the valley below from the road one the mountain, how I wished that I was able to stop. Next time I come here I would definitely bring my friends with me.
