There was one spot at near the staircase where it is arguably the best spot to take photos of the water water terraces of Baishuitai. If you can’t find it yourself, you will know when there are locals taking photos there. If there are miraculously no local tourists there, then the touts will let you know, for a fee of course. Actually, it is more like they were offering their services to guide you around the Baishuitai area. I must admit I don’t really know much about Baishuitai but I don’t think I would need much information about it to really appreciate this place.

This is where you actually step on the limestone itself. I felt a bit uneasy knowing that we are stepping on this natural wonder but there are no elevated walkways here to prevent people from trampling all over this place. I was expecting the surface to be very slippery but on the contrary, it wasn’t slippery at all. Upon closer inspection of the surface, it is clear that the limestone surface is textured, something like the bottom of rubber shoes. This help provide traction to people walking on top of it. Although most of it is not slippery, you still need to be careful as some part have algal growth and it can make things very slippery.
