Terraces of Baishuitai 白水台

There is only one thing you can see here at Baishuitai, and that is the White Water Terraces themselves. This is basically naturally formed limestone deposits which formed of the course of thousands of years. The limestone forms pools of water which give that terraces look. I have seen this look in some caves but this is the first time I see it out in the open. I don’t know whether there were caves here previously, probably not. It was not just purely climbing up the stairs until you reach the top. You can approach the foot of the limestone formation itself halfway up.

At this point, you can already see some of the terraces some have water and some do not have any. I visited Baishuitai supposedly in the rainy season but the pools here don’t seem to be full. There is a forest above the terraces and this is where the water presumably comes from. I decided to explore the foot of the terraces where I can hopefully get good shots.
