The Crystal Mosque at Kuala Terengganu

The Crystal Mosque is another one of the architectural marvels which Malaysia built. It puts a modern touch to the age old design of the Islamic house of worship. The glass panels of the mosque reflect the sun at different times of the day, which gives it its name. The Crystal Mosque is also built on top of the water. There is a river behind this area and they decided to build the mosque on top of the water. It is more like they have pilings driven onto the river bed to secure the platform where the mosque was built. It was already late in the day and I was getting anxious. There weren’t a lot of people here but most of the people who are here, have cars. Getting out of this place might be a pain.

The sun was going down now and it was reflecting beautifully against the reflective surfaces of the Crystal Mosque. The sky was getting a little darker and it seems to be making for a great opportunity. I needed to walk to the left of the mosque (looking at the mosque) to get the correct angle. There was only one angle we could work with here since there was a river in the way. Either way, we got interesting shots of the mosque as well as it location along the river. There are probably river cruises here but they don’t seem to be in operation at this time, maybe it was already late.
