Getting Back to Kuala Terengganu From Kuala Besut

While waiting at the hardware store for the bus back to Kuala Terengganu, the sun was already blazing hot, we dared not step out of the shade as it was really sorching. There were several buses which passed by, but they were all going to a different place. We heaved a sigh of relief when our bus finally came with a big Kuala Terengganu sign in front. It seems to be the same bus we took from Kuala Terengganu, from the company SP Bumi. We frantically waved at the bus to make sure they saw us and we boarded the bus. We thought the we would be going directly to the big city but it seems that they have other plans. We were brought to what seems to be the city center where the market is. We then realized that this was where the locals were saying we could go, in case we dared to venture out on our own.

There wasn’t really a bus terminal here just a dusty lot which also serves as a car park. Our driver will be having their lunch first before departing for Kuala Terengganu, the bus leaves a 2:30 in the afternoon. With our bus secured, this gave us some time to have a look around. The place wasn’t terribly interesting. I had to borrow a toilet but I seemed to have walked too far inside the village when apparently there was one very near the entrance to the village. It was obvious life here is much slower and much simpler. I don’t really know if there was anything of interest here but we didn’t linger much longer here. I got myself some fresh coconut juice. It has been ages since I had one and I eagerly downed the entire bag of juice. With our driver fully rested we finally made our way to Kuala Terengganu.
