The small village where we ate lunch at Perhentian Kecil seems to be the only village on the island. I don’t think the cluster of resorts along the best counts as a village. This is the real one. It seems really sleepy though. There was a commercial port nearby and this was where residents normally disembark. I was observing them while they were unloading cargo from the boats. The waters around this area are crystal clear, words I seem to keep using over and over again, but it is probably the most apt one. The noon day sun illuminates the waters here giving it a brilliant blue green hue.

The tour won’t be resuming anytime soon as it would be way too hot to be snorkeling. Didn’t your mother tell you not to play in the noon day sun? All that ultraviolet radiation can’t be good for you. We were trying to relax under the coconut trees but it was really too hot to enjoy it. I found myself purchasing a popsicle to help cool me down. It worked, but only for a few seconds. Maybe the water is still the best choice for us.
