Heading Back to Coral Bay

We didn’t intend to linger in Long Beach that much. The sun was still rising and we were trying to figure out what to do with the rest of the day. Sleep? It would be a waste to do so. We decided to see if they have those island hopping tours here. First we needed to head back to Coral Bay. Perhentian Kecil isn’t really a big island. It has two major beaches on the Coral Bay side and one on Long Beach which happen to be one opposite sides of the island. Much of the island is still forested lending to that feeling of isolation which is quite missing from major tourist sights. There is a small path which goes through the forest to bring visitors to either side of the island.

Long Beach is said to be the rowdier side of Perhentian Kecil, which was why we decided to stay in Coral Bay. That said, I don’t think it would have been that bad either. It was a far cry from Phuket or a Boracay in terms of happening places but that might not be a bad thing after all. I am not really a party person and I prefer things nice and quiet, so Coral Bay suits me just fine. For a jungle feel you can choose to stay more inland where the forest is much thicker. But it sort of loses the point of staying in an island if you don’t see the beach itself. Perhaps it would appeal mo to the budget conscious.
