Sunset at Perhentian Kecil

Whenever I’m at the beach I always make it a point to try to wait for the sunset. Being an office person, I don’t get to see the sun very often, probably only during lunchtime when it is extremely hot. It was a perfect chance to catch up at Perhentian Kecil since there doesn’t seem to be much we can do here. This island is not a party island unlike more well known ones. I think I prefer it that way. Coral Bay seems to be the perfect place to wait for the sunset, it was still quite early so we walked down the beach to see if there was anything nice to photograph. As we were walking, I noticed that the clouds in the horizon where getting thicker and thicker. This isn’t a good sign.

When the golden hour came there was no sun in sight. There was a a bit of color here and there but it was largely disappointing. The clouds covered up most of the color from the sunset. It was too bad. We still have another chance the next day though, hopefully we would be able to get better shots. It was really unfortunate, as we realized that the sun will be setting directly opposite Coral Bay, making this the perfect spot for sunset viewing. Oh well, we tried staying after sunset hopefully there will be some sunset colors streaming out of the clouds, but there wasn’t much either. Disappointed, we just head out to satisfy our hunger.
