There is only so much beautiful beach that you can take. After a whole lot of photo taking. we finally got the urge to find a place to stay. There was a lot to choose from here. The beach itself is lined with numerous places to stay at. These places tend to be the more expensive ones so we were inspecting each one of the resorts. Most have small cottages with or without air conditioning. I didn’t really mind these kinds of places but some of them didn’t have a built in toilet. We wouldn’t have any of that so we kept looking for other places. Although development at the Perhentian Islands hasn’t progressed to the point where you lose the off the beaten track feeling. Most of the resorts were built the same way, as powerful typhoons don’t really come by here at all.

We tried walking inland and we discovered even more development in there. These weren’t massive hotels they were building but very humble resorts some of the cottages probably also serve as their houses. As I would later find out, power isn’t really a problem here since it is supplied by cable from the mainland. Naturally, the houses inland aren’t as appealing since you can only see forest there. But then that might appeal to some people as well. We ended up on one end of the beach which bears the name Senja Bay Resort. It seemed to be quite okay. They have a restaurant along the beach and it has large screen television for public viewing. This seems to be a fun place to stay at.
