It wasn’t entirely surprised to know that the bus to Singapore doesn’t leave from Puduraya Bus Station anymore. The previous trip from China, which I needed to pass through Kuala Lumpur for already hinted at the shape of things to come. It seems that the temporary bus station at the stadium car park is no longer there and everything has been moved out the city. The new bus station is now at Bandar Tasik Selatan and I was glad to know that the bus station was already in operation. I would be getting a taste of how the station is. I have been to very modern bus stations in China and I must say the really good ones have raised the bar up quite high for me.

The Bandar Tasik Selatan Bus Station is a short bridgeway walk from the Bandar Tasik Selatan train station. From the outside you can immediately see that this is not a small structure. There was an elevated road which connects to the bus station apparently to pick up and unload passengers somewhere. Upon entry, the bus station was an impressively designed structure. In a lot of ways it was similar to the newly renovated Puduraya Bus Station as it was also bright, clean and well organized. In fact, it seems that both bus stations share the same color scheme, and it is not that bad looking. Similar to the Puduraya Bus Station, the ticket purchase for a multitude of bus companies has been rationalized and consolidated into one ticket booth. You can choose which company you want to patronize depending on your past experiences. I didn’t really have any preference as long as it leaves as soon as possible.
